The adventure takes place on the Tárcoles River. One of four rivers that flow out into the Nicoya Peninsula, Tarcoles has one of the world's largest crocodile populations in the wild with some up to fifteen feet long. In addition, there are over fifty different kinds of birds, including the scarlet macaw and a great variety of resident and migrant waterfowl. Iguanas and Jesus Cristo lizards are also very common.

As you tour by boat through the mangroves, you will see hundreds of bird species as well as hopefully have an opportunity to interact with families of Capuchin Monkeys. You might even be able to touch, feed and play with them! Regardless this is a great family tour.

Manuel Antonio National Park is Costa Rica's smallest national park. The diversity of wildlife in its 6.83 km2 (3 sq. mi) is unequaled, with 109 species of mammals and 184 species of birds.
