July of 2016 Fishing Report – FAD fishing trips are picking up! We are getting lots reports from local boats out of Los Sueños going to the FADS. They are catching a mix of mostly blue marlin, a few striped and some black marlin, double digit catches are common for this fishery. Fishing grounds start at 80 miles offshore making this an overnight trip, but well worth it to experience the best and most consistent blue marlin fishing in the world.

Although billfish such as Marlin and Sailfish are catch and release, that doesn’t mean you can’t take home some fresh dinner. Boats along the Pacific coast have reported frequent pods of spinner dolphins associated with large schools of yellowfin tuna. This makes for an enjoyable trip especially since you can take the freshest tuna home and eat it!

Nevertheless, no need to worry, you don’t have to go 80 miles offshore to catch big fish. Inshore fishing reports have been great, especially for trophy size rooster fish, 50 pound pargo (snapper), large grouper and wahoo. You can book a half day charter and catch some fresh fish for lunch! YUM!

Don’t be discourage by the rainy season, because fishing in the Pacific is still at its best around this time a year. Not only can you enjoy watching the humpback whales on their course but you can also be flabbergasted by the hundreds of spinner dolphins, well…. spinning!

Calm waters, sunny mornings and cloudy evenings, still makes a great day to enjoy the action.
