The adventure takes place on the Tárcoles River. One of four rivers that flow out into the Nicoya Peninsula, Tarcoles has one of the world’s largest crocodile populations in the wild with some up to fifteen feet long. Poas Volcano Tour
The Poas Volcano is among the most visited national parks in the Costa Rican National Park System and a powerful symbol of the geothermal forces that formed Costa Rica. The crater is 2, 704 meters high, 1,050 feet (320 meters) deep. At almost a mile (1.6 km) across it’s also the largest active crater in the world, with a sulfuric, bubbling green rain fed lake at the bottom.The second crater, Laguna Botos, is a lake surrounded by a dense cloud forest. Manuel Antonio National Park
Manuel Antonio National Park is Costa Rica’s smallest national park. The diversity of wildlife in its 6.83 km2 (3 sq. mi) is unequaled, with 109 species of mammals and 184 species of birds. Three of Costa Rica’s monkeys (the Mantled Howler monkey, Central American Squirrel monkey, and White-headed Capuchin monkey) along with black Spiny-tailed Iguana, Green Iguana, Common Basilisk, White-nosed Coati and many snake and bat species are also common in the park. Included in the bird species are Toucans, Woodpeckers, Potoos, Motmots, Tanagers, Turkey Vultures, Parakeets and Hawks.
