These were followed by Tijereta, Rum Line, Chechos, Showtime y Pelese, with 300 points; Offshore has 200, Fortuna II, Pretty Lady, Monique and Xta-Sea carrying 100. Seven boats did not release any billfish.
Fuujin, he held the top spot for the first two days of competition, has lost ground the last morning, only to release a sailfish.
For his part, Juan Carlos Lemus’s Reel-Ax Marlin has released only so far in this third and final day, and is the sixth of the event.
Rum Runner of Nicaragua, pulled out the victory on the last day. Overall it was a great tournament with 264 sailfish and 7 marlin released over the three days.
Tranquilo battled hard all three days, then engine troubles delayed their return on the last day, and they arrived back at the marina too late to take the trophy…bad luck, but champions nonetheless – Congrats to Rum Runner for taking top honors!
