Costa Rica is sometimes referred to as the Switzerland of Central America because of its comfortable lifestyle, peaceful democracy and overwhelming natural beauty. The country’s cast of creatures – ranging from howler monkeys to toucans – are populous and relatively easy to spot. The waves are prime, the beauty is staggering and the sluggish pace seductive.
Although the country is small and it covers only 0.03 % of the surface of the globe, it proudly shelters a 5% of the existing biodiversity in the entire world. 25.58 % of the country is composed of conservation and natural protected territory.
Because Costa Rica is located between 8 and 12 degrees north of the Equator, the climate is tropical year round and bordered by the Pacific Ocean, Panama, Nicaragua and the Caribbean Sea.
Costa Rica is also an attractive country for investment and it offers great potential for the establishment of important multinational companies, thanks to the outstanding academic level of its population, as well as the high standard of modern services and social and political stability.
Costa Rica has unlimited tourist potential and is ranked as one of the most visited international destinations. One of Costa Rica’s main sources of income is tourism. Costa Rica is a democratic and peaceful country, and it has not had an army since the year 1949.

What our customers are saying
Ricardo and the HRG Team were unbelievable and were always available and willing to do anything ot make our trip perfect. We had a day off from fishing and waited until the morning of the off day to schedule our activities and within minutes of picking up the phone and talking with Ricardo and his staff we had set up an ATV tour that ended up being one of the highlights of our trip. As for the accomodations they were Five Star and the views were priceless. HRG made the trip very easy from the ride from the airport, having the refrigerator stocked with food and beverages and everything in between. I will be heading back down within the next 6 months. Upon arrival at the condo I gave myself a tour of all the rooms. They were all spotless. All the sheets were pressed and clean, bathrooms were stocked, towels and other amenities were all there. The bed I was sleeping in was a little stiff but was still comfortable. The view from the balcony was stunning and sunset is a must see.
HRG booked all of our excursions. There were a few instances of miscommunication, hence the very good rating. Ultimately though those were very minor and did not diminish the experience at all. All the tours were amazing. tips on the tours. The trekking tour is not for folks who are not use to hiking hilly terrain, dirt was loose but we saw some things in the park that your average tourist would never see. My brother and I were the first people to do the trek all year.
Tortuga Island was a great way to just relax and enjoy the beach. It is a 2 hour boat ride to the island and once you are there you get a few hours on the island which you can snorkel, jetski, ride the banana boat and kayak. Some locals show up on the island one of which offers freshly caught oysters which were delicious. There was also someone selling coconuts as well.
Tortuga Surf Camp is one of the best surf schools in Costa Rica. The instructors all know what they are doing and in the off season teach athletes from volcom and burton how to surf. The instructors are very friendly and make it easy to start surfing. Keep in mind they are busy and December is the high season so book early! The aTV tour was fun. I recommend taking the 2 or 3 hour tour. you really get out in the mountains and get to see some spectacular views with those tours.
The horse back tour was spectacular. you really get a sense of the local culture. If you are daring enough you can jump off a small ledge on the waterfall. It is quite exhilarating. also be aware of belt clipped electronics. one of the people on the tour lost there phone in the water.Adventurous1 (Denver CO)
